microDATA is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Specialist to develop and implement test plans. This person will serve as the primary liaison between the Programming Department and the Technical Support Group.
Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain test automation
- Develop quality assurance standards
- Work closely with Developers in reviewing and applying application specifications
- Implement software testing
- Document software test results
- Utilize RoboHelp to document software operation guidelines
- Provide the Technical Support Group with updates regarding new software releases, enhancements, and functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 1 year of relevant experience in testing software
- Knowledge of VB.NET, RoboHelp, and SQL Server
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be comfortable working in small group settings

Technical Writer
microDATA is seeking a Technical Writer with strong documentation and Robohelp skills to join our Documentation Team. The Technical Writer will gather and analyze material necessary to write software specifications, notes and drawings, manuals, user guides, online documentation, help files, and other documents to explain clearly and concisely the installation, operation and maintenance of our software.
Responsbilities:
- Gather and analyze technical information and develop clear and concise technical documentation for 9-1-1 mapping software including: software specifications, notes and drawings, manuals, user guides, online documentation, help files, and other documents
- Develop strategies that assure new functions are updated in existing documentation.
- Convert documentation into Adobe Acrobat format (PDF)
- Update web site with PDFs for download of new manuals, documentation and SOPs.
- Build PowerPoint presentations
- Document Technical Design of systems
- Work with Developers and Analysts on the understanding of defined requirements
- Support training staff in building custom documentation to assist in training efforts
Qualifications:
- Expert skills in Adobe Frame, RoboHelp, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other visual tools
- Knowledge of XML
- Must be quality conscious and result oriented
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of technical writing experience in a technical industry.
- Capable of learning new software solutions quickly
- Experience in writing Doc Plan
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with ESRI ArcView 3.x, or Arc GIS 8.x and GIS Databases is a plus.

SQL Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Enforce and manage security by using stored procedures, triggers, views, and user-defined functions.
- Transfer and migrate data into new databases.
- Configure databases and implement a backup strategy.
- Support of our proprietary 9-1-1 software built on SQL Server database. Will require some onsite support.
- Testing and project setup.
- Provide on-going maintenance and tuning of our SQL Server database and ArcSDE in-house and remote user locations.
- Assist with on-site training to clients.
- Assist with Technical Support of proprietary SQL Server/ArcSDE based applications.
- Document client issues, application development requests and installation histories.
- Perform and automate administrative tasks and create custom administrative tools. Troubleshoot transactions and locking by using SQL Profiler.
- Develop and manage DTS packages for customers.
- Build and enact disaster recovery operations.
Qualifications:
- Expert level knowledge of Windows 2000 and XP operating systems.
- Must be an expert in working with SQL databases and with ArcSDE 9.x.
- Two to five years experience working with SQL Databases and ArcSDE, complex networks and software installations.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an associated field of study.
- Microsoft MCDBA certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Experience and working knowledge of SQL analysis products.

Project Coordinator
microDATA is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the point person for our customers before, during, and after installations & training
- Build project timelines and keep the project on schedule
- Organize and host conference calls with customers to assure the expectations from both parties are clearly defined and understood
- Coordinate the training, installations, and assigned resources for the project
- Track and document each aspect of new projects
- Manage all project milestones to assure they are being reached
- Constantly keep in contact with customers to assure their satisfaction with ongoing projects
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or related field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to make accurate and timely decisions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated skills with project management methodologies and tools
- Proven ability to coordinate technical projects and assure that all pieces come together per the requirements of the contract in the required period of time
- Knowledge of GIS and/or Public Safety is a plus
